There is something uplifting and inspiring about weddings, and it never fails to cheer me up. Congratulations once more to the happy couple - who, I hope, will not read this until they return from their honeymoon!

One thing I always notice, at weddings, is the flowers chosen and their arrangements. It's most probably because of my own love of Herbology and gardening. Spring is here, as announced Dierdre, and it is such a joy to work in my newly expanded greenhouse and get everything ready for the new season. Sarah, Joanna, you must come and see the finished result of the greenhouse expansion, I'm really happy with my new workspace. Joanna, you'll be happy to know that I've set aside a cupboard for all your painting material so you don't have to bring everything with you through the Floo each week.

I will refrain from joining my voice to the chorus of love quotations, but instead wish a happy day to everyone, may they be single, engaged or married, may things be good or difficult for them lately, may they be celebrating a birth or mourning a death. Love is not only romantic in nature, it is all-encompassing. To all of you, happy Valentine's Day.

As a fellow journalist, Mr Dobbs was a colleague and I am shocked by his death. He was a very dedicated man, digging for stories and never shying away from anything news worthy. My sympathies to his family and to the Daily Prophet's team.

The WWN's Year in Review programme will be broadcasted tomorrow, like every year, but it is the first time that I am the one hosting it and I must say it is much more work than I ever imagined. So much happened in 1979 that it was very difficult to select what to include, how much time to give to each event, what to focus on, and so on and so forth. Let's hope that 1980 will be kind to all of us.
